When Chicago Stadium opened in 1929 it was hailed as "the greatest
amphitheater for sport ever built in America." In the ensuing six
decades, the stadium hosted basketball, ice hockey, boxing, figure
skating, national politics, and even the 1932 NFL championship between
the Bears and Portsmouth Spartans. This scene shows a packed house of
18,676 fans rooting for the Bulls as they battle their division
rivals, the Cleveland Cavs. In 1992-93 the Bulls captured their
third NBA Championship.
