Artist Douglas C. Hess' painting features Frank Wycheck, one of the most dominant and respected tight ends in the NFL. Wycheck announced his retirement on January 23, 2004, following the most prolific career by a tight end in franchise history and one of the most productive in NFL history. During an 11-year NFL career, Wycheck accumulated 505 receptions, ranking 4th all-time among NFL tight ends. Of the six modern era tight ends in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Wycheck had more receptions than four of them. His reliable blue-collar approach earned him respect from teammates, accolades from the media and countless cheers from adoring fans. Perhaps Steve McNair said it best, "I could always go to him when I was in trouble. It's hard to think of going out there without number 89 in the huddle."
