This aerial panorama of Michigan Stadium, at the University of Michigan campus, was taken by James Blakeway during a Wolverines football game. Since its inaugural season in 1927, Michigan Stadium has seen more than 40 million fans pass through its gates and 223 consecutive crowds of 100,000-plus. Many changes and renovations have continuously improved the quality of the facility, while increasing capacity to its current 109,901 seats. Michigan's largest regular-season home crowd was November 22, 2003, for the 100th game with 112,118 fans in attendance. The University campus boasts other state-of-the art sports facilities such as Crisler Arena and Yost Ice Arena, which are shown in this photo.
